It is easy to judge a villain and then follow the railroaded plot to its natural conclusion where you are right and the villain is wrong. Certain, better games at least have you understand their POV.
But only Fable III challenges you to not only see Logan's point of view, but thrusts you into the their position and dares you to do better, in this case, saving Albion without becoming a tyrant. Without real estate, this would be a great challenge indeed. I would much rather be intimate with my friends, my spouse, and my children a la the Fable III system then dance randomly in front of a bunch of strangers. How do you make it better? This would be the ultimate Fable game.
Instead, even with the tools at their disposal, the once revolutionary, challenging Lionhead Studios is now forced to cowtow at Microsoft's feet and make Fable Legends. This time, the world of Albion has not changed much: the events took place fifty years after the events of the previous part. So the changes only affected the color scheme: restrained pastel colors replaced the bright palette of the second Fable. In addition, the story of the newly elected Hero-Prince or princess , this time the direct heir to the former protagonist, began not with the usual childhood experiences, but already from a completely adult period of life.
The cheerful four-legged creature safely moved to the next part, and the new charismatic antagonist was beyond praise. The whole plot was built around the revolution, which was entrusted to us to lead. It turned out that the brother of the Hero and at the same time the current king is an evil tyrant and a worthless ruler, and only the legitimate heir to the throne has the right to overthrow him. The new game has grown significantly in terms of production.
A choice, loved by all developers, appeared in the dialogues, and our decisions entailed far-reaching consequences. Which, as always, were reflected in the karma of the protagonist. The previous part put an end to monetary rewards for completing tasks, depriving us of honest earnings and forcing us to real work and diligent search for treasures.
In general, a paradise for those who like to plunge into the gaming world with their heads! Now you could not only call the NPC with you, but also take him by the handle, and also go on dates with him.
The scheme of romantic progress is familiar to many from Mass Effect : to move to the next level of relationship, you need to complete a small assignment of the character. Simply put Fable 2 is a poor game while Fable 3 is much more rich with content and fits more within the lore than Fable 2. Here are the main differences though. Fable 2 has a much, much faster combat system. However this is only the case in that your character attacks at a faster rate of speed.
Boss fights are also gone which takes a lot of charm from the first game. Fable 3 on the other hand nerfs melee so that you rely on all combat options at your disposal. Magic is more limited in that a lot of spells are gone, however they add in the ability to weave spells together in order to create powerful new spells. Easily a far better system than Fable 2. Both games have pretty good introductions to the hero.
From then you set out on a quest for recenge. However that is all of the development you get. Even side characters are relatively boring with the only one with an interesting story being Hammer. The villain is also interesting at first until the end of the game where we get the most disappointing climax in the series. Reaver was the best part of Fable 2 tbh.
Fable 3 starts off with you as the Prince or Princess of an Albion that is not doing so well. The people are beginning to revolt against your tyrant brother Logan, the King of Albion. When you choose to stand up to him… well people die. You run off and with your 2 allies and begin to start a revolution to usurp the thrown and become ruler.
Along the way there are tons of interesting characters and boss battles which while not the greatest, are still better than what we got in Fable 2. You gain lots of friends along the way and meet many interesting characters.
There is an interesting plot twist you get near the end of the game which makes it interesting. Certainly a far better game in the story department. However what is most important over the story is the content within the game. Fable 2 has side quests, however very few were memorable with a graveyard quest where you must kill hollowmen zombies being perhaps the best.
There is a fun gargoyle quest as well as well as a quest to get a pirate ship to a single island. The ability to dig is still present, and swimming is not an option with diving from treasure available despite how clunky the swim mechanics are. Of course there are also Demon Doors, however they are a lot more vague and would require a guide for most players. All n all the only reason to play Fable 2 for is the sub par story.
Fable 3 however has tooooons of fun and interesting quests. I mean, take your pick. Entering the world of a book written by a play writer and going through his play, searching for books which contain amazing lore to complete a library, a hollowmen killing the quest, several quests with the 2 brothers from the hollowmen quest in Fable 2, a Balverine quest, finding a burnt down mansion that rebuilds itself at night only to be cursed on the inside, and so many more!
That is on top of all of the features from Fable 2 returning, however with improved upon controls. Swimming is much faster and allows for more control, there are more treasured to search for, and digging is use more. That is on top of the Demon Doors making a return. On top if that there are plenty of mini games which make Fable 3 very entertaining.
The evil ending leaves the player with practically nothing to do. The good ending is faaaar better for the player, however is requires that you get about 12,, gold if I recall. I recommend buying in game property at every chance you get. User Info: Rinraiden. Fable 3 is the weakest in the trilogy. If you didn't care for the first two, don't bother with this one.
Even if it means losing someone that you love. User Info: xKontagionx. How about if someone liked Fable 1 but didn't like Fable 2 except for coop?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. User Info: Smackdowner1.
There are some things in Fable II that are undoubtedly better like being able to choose expressions, having an inventory for multiple consumable items and locking on to specific body parts when using ranged weapons and some things that are a matter of preference like having multiple, individual spells equipped instead of two spells woven together for one effect, and being able to place your own augments in weapons instead of each weapon being preset.
But overall Fable III is a far better game. The environments are bigger, and better designed. The quests are more involving. The animations have improved. There's more world changing decisions. Co-op is so much better. Each player is their own hero. Online players no longer share the same screen. User Info: Fraust. Co op is the only thing really improved. Fable 2 did everything else better. User Info: themerlin. Fraust posted Not really, better combat, weapons, story and graphics in Fable 3 As the world plunges into chaos, in this the final days of the wretched human race, there is only one antidote to this misery Smackdowner1 Are those "world changing decisions" weaved into the the general gameplay or is it just the stop and halt binary pick one or the other kind of thing?
Not really, better combat, weapons, story and graphics in Fable 3 Really? Cause I thought the combat was much worse. It felt slower and almost sluggish.
You couldn't sub-target anymore with your gun. Only real improvement, combat-wise, Fable 3 brought was the cinematic flourishes.
