Dirk, thats odd that you get errors on the new RUU's. Sometimes if the hboot and radios don't match up the RUU won't run. You need to get that installed. The phone was not rooted. I dont even know how to do that. I will try that pc36img file. Sorry but I have to ask why your friend didn't bring it right to sprint and get them to fix it they would have replaced it in a second for a bad upgrade?
I tried to go back to stock with the original RUU and I need help My phone will only stay on the white htc evo 4g screen then reboot in a loop, I have wiped and tried flashing different roms and no go. Did you root? What computer os are you working with what have you tried to rectified this issue what files have you used et etc etc I had the same thing happen to me when trying to go back on my old Evo.
I think if you flash the wrong files for your radio you'll brick it. Power on while holding vol down and see what radio and hboot you have. Post it back here. Sent from my PC using Tapatalk Radio version 1. Ok are you already rooted and nand unlocked? Whats the purpose of you trying to break your phone now? On the same screen where you see the radio version, we need to know what the hboot version is, its important.
Should be something like. Sent from my PC using Tapatalk try posting in the correct forum, post this in qa or general its. Anything I can do or just contact sprint. Some people have been able to do it that way. You need to get back to being able to downgrade the bootloader.
After finish it, turn off the phone press volume down and power to Bootloader screen wait until load hboot, then in fastboot plug the usb and press power botton and will change to fastboot USB, Then run the RUU. Good Luck!! Ps: I got same issue when i began root and unroot but after practice is a piece of cake.
Switched and ready to sell!?! I am Son, rooted, with custom ROM. Question is, will I have to get Soff first to be able take away "tampered" through lazy panda or is there another way? Thanks If you have hboot 1. Sent from my EVO using xda premium You'll need to relock the bootloader with fastboot "fastboot oem lock" from command prompt and then run the RUU for the software version that matches the bootloader you currently have. But yeah, agree with previous poster Otherwise, above instructions should work.
For more details, do a forum search Yes it still has 1. I guess I can leave it up to the buyer how they want the phone set up. Do you know where I can find the RUU? I am definetly 1. Just did this the other night also. My phone was just like yours. I am not sure if S-On could just load the.
I finally stopped after waiting ten mintues. I had to go to my PC and run Ubuntu Live to unbrick the phone. I am not a Linux user and getting into the right folders was a little tough. Yeah, I think I'm going to do it the long way too. I've done s-off then back to s-on already, but that was before the OTA's and up dated roms came out. Thanks for the input! Hboot 1. Comes with cases and sdcards too! Worked flawlessly! Rooting the evo hey guys, my girlfriend just bought a new evo that has the gingerbread ota already installed.
Thats brings you to Hboot. You cant even shut the phone off without pulling the battery the power off in the menu just puts it to sleep so it boots up quickly when u power on. Hopefully someone can save us from this non rooted nightmare soon.
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time, thanks! Another way to get s-off is to put the phone on the stage at a strip club. Them exotics dancers can help you get it off Just go into settings and applications the unchecked fastboot.

Here is how things go down the process of: First we unlock the bootloader, after unlocking, flash or install a custom recovery, and then flash Superuser or SuperSU for gaining the root access on the stock ROM OR flash a custom ROM with Superuser baked in it.
When we are done with it, we use any app that requires root access and enjoy better performance, infinite level of customization and also, extra battery life!
The one of us who know anything about HTC Android devices, also are aware of the fact that S-OFF is like a holy grail for those wanting a full customization on the device. S-OFF is a complete bootloader unlock for HTC devices, allowing you write access to any part of the device while removing any restrictions on what changes can be made.
The HTC devices which have been unlocked by the latter HTCdev unlock method cannot have their firmware updated without updating the Hboot and also often requires extra steps to flash the kernels or ROMs.
